    Rock Rose Art Gallery, a community minded artistic enterprise opened it’s door in Historic
    Highland Park in 2000. Committed to a mission to provide a nurturing environment for artists
    of all disciplines and ages, Rock Rose has also contributed to the landscape of viable artistic
    storefronts that provide an empowering environment of creative spirit for artists and community

For more information please visit: www.losangeleselectric8.com The LOS ANGELES ELECTRIC 8 is a group of eight guitarists who bring the electric guitar to a chamber ensemble, channeling their classical backgrounds into an instrument usually reserved for rock. They rectify the electric guitar’s absence in classical music, revealing the instrument’s enormous potential in the world of art music. CHELSEA GREEN - Recital: UCLA Doctorate of Musical Arts degree A classical guitarist and vocalist whose special interests include expansion of the guitar repertoire through performance of new music, publication of effective transcriptions and involvement in innovative collaborations. In 2006, California Guitar Archives published her transcriptions for guitar and voice entitled "Erik Satie: Four Songs from 1886". Same year, Chelsea and two other UCLA students founded "The Bantam Ballet", combining guitar-accompanied art song, dance and multimedia design. She is an original member of "The Los Angeles Electric 8". The group often takes their program of classical music arranged or written for 8 electric guitars on tour throughout major California venues, including prisons. She is currently pursing a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at UCLA, studying guitar with Dr. Peter Yates. Aside from performing, Chelsea teaches guitar throughout the Los Angeles area prepares guitar and voice transcriptions of art songs for publication and plays in the band "SuperDuperStar". Northeast Los Angeles has a long and storied tradition in the arts. Many
working artists now continue this tradition by making their homes and having
their studios here. The district is also home to many galleries, alternative
arts spaces and arts organizations.

Rock Rose Art Gallery extends the premiere of the artist known as "CAB" art exhibition
" A Refreshing new look at Urban Art " through Oct. 15, 2006.
CAB's exhibition of fine art includes works from his beginnings.
He will be present at Rock Rose Saturday, October 14 , 7-11p.m.
during our 2nd Saturday Gallery Nite in Northeast Los Angeles (NELA art)

The premiere of fine art work by CAB was such a success!
presented by Rock Rose Art Gallery in association with zocaloc prod.
Fri. Oct. 6 was Artist Night with guests Joe Bravo, Shandu, Peter Carrillo
Relax, Cre8 and others.
Saturday: Oct. 7, The Public Opening for CAB was Fabulous! DJ: Manuel
and 1st Sat. of Month Jam featuring The Groove Session.
Sunday: Oct. 8 was a CAB book signing "The History of Los Angeles Graffiti Arts"
with authors Robert Alva and Robert Reiling. Among the guests were Gallo, Ben from Disney,
